What is equity release?
Equity release is a growing market with more and more people, who are approaching retirement, realising their pensions may not enable them to live the lifestyle they would like to.
Equity release enables you to release some equity held in your home enabling you to enjoy some of the finer things in life. You can raise the funds for whatever needs you may have and you can enjoy this extra cash whilst still living in your home.
Another positive to releasing equity is that the money you gain through the process is tax free. This doesn’t mean you will not have inheritance to pass down either as a discussion with one of our financial advisers can support you with this.
Who is eligible to consider equity release?
To be eligible you need to be over the age of 55 and to be living in the property that you wish to release equity from. How much equity you release is dependent on a range of factors. In simple terms, the older and more equity that you have in the property, the more equity you will be entitled to.
How do I repay the released equity?
Any Equity that you do release will be repaid upon the sale of your home either on your passing or should you move in to care.
